October is Black History Month, so why not join us in our celebrations on Sunday 2nd and Sunday 16th October and enjoy some exciting black culture experiences representing the wonderfully diverse community here in Bromley.
From 11am – 4pm each Sunday, on the high street near Metro Bank, Your Bromley will host a variety of craft workshops, stalls – run by black creators and makers – followed by live steel pan and gospel choir music from Wade Austin’s Steel Pan In Motion & London African Community Gospel Choir, lifting our spirits from 4pm – 6pm
Flakies Fashion by Fola will showcase their beautiful, hand-made, limited edition Ankara print designs, offering affordable and authentic fashions.
Mangotree Kids Jolly Djembe Experience are offering wonderful fun and engaging African drumming sessions designed to immerse children in the rich history and culture of Africa. You’ll learn about the importance of the Djembe drum in Black history and have an opportunity to wear beautiful African robes or Cultural Superhero Capes.
Africa Experience will be running hands-on craft workshops where you can learn more about and try traditional African crafts, including Beading, Mask making and Textiles.
Jamii is a community of Black creators and makers and a discovery platform for up-coming British brands. A variety of Jamii’s makers will be showcasing their unique pieces to browse and buy.
Magician Trixy with be performing close up magical illusions!
