Afternoon Tea Tales at Copper Ceylon

Forget cucumber sandwiches and a pot of Earl Grey. This September, Bromley-based Sri Lankan restaurant Copper Ceylon is giving one of Britain's most-loved traditions a bold new twist with the launch of Tea Tales – a Sri Lankan-inspired afternoon tea experience featuring authentic island flavours, premium Ceylon tea and unlimited cocktails served from teapots.

Launching on Saturday 5th September and available every Saturday thereafter, Tea Tales blends the elegance of a traditional afternoon tea with the vibrant spices, flavours and hospitality of Sri Lanka. Guests can choose from a classic afternoon tea with premium Ceylon tea from £25 per person, or upgrade to £35 per person for bottomless prosecco or unlimited cocktails, from classics like lychee martinis and pornstar martinis to signature specials like the Trinco Tiki (Arrack, Pineapple Juice, Passion Fruit Syrup,Falernum Syrup & Lemon Juice) or the Ceylon Old Fashioned (Arrack, Bourbon, Angostura Bitters,Orange Bitters & Coconut Syrup) served in teapots.

Served across three tiers, the savoury selection reimagines classic afternoon tea favourites through a Sri Lankan lens. Expect Coconut Sambol & Cheese Sandwiches, Traditional Sri Lankan Tuna Sandwiches, Rainbow Sandwiches and Egg & Mayo Sandwiches, alongside Copper Ceylon's signature hot bites including Jaffna Mutton Rolls, Sri Lankan Chicken Roti, Chicken Masala Puffs, Jackfruit Cutlets and Fish Toasties.

To finish, guests can indulge in a trio of sweet treats including Sri Lankan Coconut Cake, Mini Fruit Tartlets and Creamy Chocolate Cake, perfectly paired with premium Ceylon teas or one of the restaurant's playful teapot cocktails.

The launch of Afternoon Tea Tales builds on Copper Ceylon's mission to bring the rich culinary heritage of Sri Lanka to London through authentic recipes, fragrant spices and traditional cooking techniques inspired by the island's diverse regions. Already celebrated for their signature dishes including Hot Butter Squid, Pork Black Curry and traditional Hoppers, the restaurant is now offering guests a new way to experience Sri Lankan hospitality in an elegant afternoon setting.
