Local businesses told us that the look and feel of the Town Centre was a top priority – so we’ve taken action. Your Bromley BID is delivering a series of environmental improvements to create a cleaner, greener and more inviting space for all.

When a place is attractive, clean, and well-maintained – the whole town benefits. Creating a welcoming environment encourages people to stay longer, explore more, and spend more, boosting economic activity across all sectors.

It projects a sense of prosperity and safety, which builds consumer confidence and strengthens the town’s reputation. For office-based businesses, it enhances their ability to attract and retain skilled staff, leaves a strong professional impression on visiting clients, and signals economic vitality – making the area more appealing to investors and supporting long-term inward investment.

The arrival of the floral cascade planters last week marked the final phase of this year’s summer floral installation, delivering a striking finish to a project we’re proud to have completed on behalf of the Bromley business community.

The bases of the trees in market square had become barren ash trays and we decided to revitalise the area. In partnership with the Bromley Safer Neighbourhood Board and with the hands-on help of officers from the London Fire Brigade, we planted 300 trailing petunias in red, white and purple. It was a great example of community in action.

We were delighted to enlist the support of Coolings Garden Centre, too. Gary from Coolings joins us to share why it’s so important to protect these revitalised tree pits – and how we’ve worked together to bring vibrant colour to Market Square.

We’ve also carried out deep cleaning of high footfall locations, beginning with scrubbing and jet-washing of the pedestrianised area. See below for the before and after.

The response to this work has been incredibly positive and our floral instillations arrived just in time for Floral Fest. On Saturday 21 June, we welcome back Charlie Dimmock as head judge for Floral Fest 2025, where 30 local schools will showcase their creative floral designs. And on Sunday 6 July, in a first for Bromley town centre, we’re excited to launch Bromley Motor Show, with over 100 classic, vintage and collectible vehicles signed up to exhibit on the high street.
