Your Bromley worked proactively and collaboratively to ensure the town centre was well prepared for increased student activity on the last day of term before the Easter break.

Following incidents on previous end-of-term dates, we called for a coordinated response, engaging directly with senior Metropolitan Police officers and Bromley Council representatives to ensure a robust plan was in place.

The Met Police drafted a message to be shared with schools by Bromley Council. A Section 35 Dispersal Order was put in place and a boosted police presence saw 1 inspector, 3 sergeants and 18 PCs, plus PCSOs, on duty in the town centre.

This approach was successful in creating a safer environment for businesses, residents, and visitors, with no serious issues reported. We will continue to work closely with partners and have already called for a similar arrangements to be adopted for the next end of term.

Please share any relevant information via the ShopSafe radio and the Alert! app, and continue to report incidents directly to the police. If you’re interested in joining the Shop Safe Radio Scheme, please email enquires@yourbromley.com.
