Your Bromley BID secures additional Policing for the festive period

Your Bromley BID has agreed the funding of additional, ring fenced, and targeted policing in Bromley Town Centre in the run up to Christmas 2025.

Under ‘Operation Gemini’ a minimum of 256 extra hours of officer time will ensure a boosted police presence on selected days from mid-November through to Christmas Eve.

As well as acting as a visible and reassuring presence, and deterring criminal activity and Antisocial Behaviour, a key priority for officers will be returning any stolen stock to businesses.

Acting Inspector Ben Levett, said, “The Met’s partnership with Your Bromley BID is essential in making the town centre a safer place. As well as providing a vital link with the business community throughout the year, working closely together on specific projects like Operation Gemini is invaluable in tackling business crime.”

Your Bromley Chief Executive, Chris Travers, said “Tackling Business Crime is a key issue for our business community and we’re pleased to be strengthening our partnership with the Met Police. Along with aiding loss prevention for businesses, Operation Gemini will help make Bromley Town Centre a safer place for all this Christmas.”

Bromley Town Centre’s Christmas Lights switch on takes place on Sunday 16 November.
