Spotlight On Everything Hunky Dory

We meet Charmain De Blasi, of Everything Hunky Dory.

Tell us about you and where we can find you. We are quirky little store showcasing a variety of design led products, located on the upper mall of the Glades shopping centre.

How long have you worked here? Everything Hunky Dory launched in 2022, followed by our pop up Christmas store All the Trimmings in 2023.

What makes Everything Hunky Dory unique? Why should people visit? Everything Hunky Dory brings an unusual mix of seasonal products to the Glades, we specialise in the more quirky items that cannot be found in High Street stores and insist on great quality at affordable prices.

What makes Bromley town centre a great place to own a business? Bromley is a fantastic town full of energy with a great diverse mix of people, we have something for everyone, great shopping, fantastic restaurants and bars but it’s the people who make it special, hence why we have live and work here!

How did you get into this line of work? We started our retail journey many years ago attending Garden shows throughout the UK which included the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show, we then progressed to retailing in shopping centres and have actually worked within The Glades for over 20 years with different brands. We love the creative side of our brand and really enjoy bringing the unusual to the marketplace. But the best part about being an independent business is having that close connection to our customers, retail is addictive and I can’t see us losing the passion anytime soon!

What has been the biggest benefit you’ve found from being part of Your Bromley BID? Being a part of Your Bromley BID brings all the town’s businesses together, it keeps us connected and informed, and the BID team do great work organising events and keeping our town a safer and cleaner environment for us all to enjoy. Tell us one fact about you that even your own team doesn’t know yet! Our name is inspired from a David Bowie album who as all Bowie fans know was once a Bromley resident just like us!
