Bromley Business Improvement District Announces Board Change

Your Bromley, the Business Improvement District for Bromley town centre has appointed a new chair, Andy Bawn.

Andy, the manager of J D Wetherspoons pub, The Greyhound, on Bromley High Street, takes the reins from Kate Weir, general manager of intu, Bromley.

Former Royal Navy Leading Hand Andy, was appointed to the board of directors in April this year to help the not for profit Business Improvement District to achieve its three-year business plan.

Andy commented: “After over 30 years in the hospitality industry, fourteen of them in Bromley, I have seen the town centre improve through the hard work of those who care about the town, especially business leaders and business owners. As part of the BID team I am very honoured to have been elected to be Chair of Your Bromley and I hope to continue the excellent work of my predecessor, Kate Miller. I am looking forward to being part of the team that will see the growth and improvement of the town, and to offer a first rate experience to all our visitors in the coming years.”

Frances Forrest, manager of Your Bromley, the Business Improvement District for Bromley, commented: “Andy is already very familiar with the work we are doing at the BID and we think he will do a great job in his new role. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Kate Miller, the outgoing Chair for all her hard work and input over the past months, we look forward to continuing our work alongside her in her role on our board.”

The Bromley Business Improvement District (BID) is a business led and business funded scheme to improve Bromley town centre through additional services and new initiatives and aims to promote Bromley to visitors old and new.
