Wimbledon Event

In Market Square we are creating ‘Bromley Hill’ to celebrate the second week of Wimbledon. The free event will be held from 4th July through to the final on the 10th July. There will be a designated area with a large outdoor screen showing entire matches daily, a lush green floor, deck chairs and accompanied with a stall selling classic British tennis drinks, such as Pimms & Lemonade, and a Wimbledon favourite, Strawberries & Cream.

Bromley Hill will give visitors the opportunity to spend longer in Bromley Town Centre and enjoy the large variety of shops, restaurants and bars.

Bromley Fire Station Open Day

To celebrate 150 years of the London Fire Brigade on Saturday 18th June from 12pm – 4pm, Bromley Fire station, (4 South Street) will open its doors and host an open day. There will be life-sized Playmobil fire fighters in the children’s area, a face painter, exciting fire and rescue demonstrations and feast your eyes on a classic fire engine. You will be able to speak with the Bromley fire fighters and receive community safety advice.

The Bromley Rotary Giraffe Trail

Bromley rotary club is organising a giraffe trail to increase footfall, attract visitors, raise money for local charities and promote the clubs involvement with town traders and businesses, the local Council and the media. The club will provide a number of 5 foot high, plain paper mache, undecorated giraffes which can be adopted by local traders and businesses. The adoptive parent will decide the style, choose the decoration of the giraffe and also give it a name.

The rotary club will link the giraffe to a local charity to which the proceedings will go to. The rotary club has proposed a competition trail, where the giraffes can be visited in their adoptive homes and be showcased for two weeks. At the end of the event the giraffes will be auctioned off for their allocated charity.
