BROMLEY SCHOOLS WHEELBARROW COMPETITION PEOPLES CHOICE WINNER ANNOUNCED

Competition was tough in this year’s Bromley Schools Wheelbarrow competition hosted Your Bromley, the Business Improvement District for Bromley town centre, but the votes are in and the winner of the People’s Choice Award has been decided.

The competition saw 37 schools participate and over 5,500 votes cast in the online public vote which has been won by Parish C of E Primary School, London Lane, Bromley. Scoring almost 10% of the votes the school’s entry saw their wheelbarrow planted in red, white and blue, the school’s colours with a theme of ‘joy in nature’, celebrating the fact that children can experience a sense of joy through the outdoors. Decorated and planted by members of the school’s gardening club, the children painted the finger print flowers on to the wheelbarrow themselves.

Every school taking part was asked to decorate and plant a wheelbarrow that said something about their school, whether it used the school colours, represented its values or portrayed a strength of the school.

Frances Forrest, BID manager, commented, “We were overwhelmed by the response to the public vote. The entry from Parish C of E Primary was wonderful and is a deserving winner. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the schools for taking part again.”
