Christmas Lights Switch On

BROMLEY LOCAL ROB BECKETT SWITCHES ON TOWN’S CHRISTMAS LIGHTS ALONGSIDE LOCAL HERO WINNER

Comedian, TV star and podcaster Rob Beckett and Bromley’s Local Hero, Hayley Milne, joined hundreds of people to turn on the town’s Christmas Lights on Sunday 19th November at our Lights Switch On event.

Stand up star and TV favourite, Rob, who has regularly performed at The Churchill Theatre and often talks about Bromley on his chart-topping podcast, ‘Parenting Hell’, was born and raised in Bromley.

Local Hero Hayley has raised over £32,000 for the PTA at Bickley Primary School, and most of Bickley were there to cheer her on!

The Lights Switch on event started at midday with performances from local dance and performing arts schools including Vibe Arts, PQDA, Studio 74, Skylark Dance Academy, Danceworxs and All the Arts.  They were followed by live music from Viva Accappella and the local Rock Choir.  Ventriloquist John Kimmons, appearing in Cinderella at The Churchill Theatre also took to the stage, before singer songwriter Debbralee Wells got the crowd singing along to an array of festive favourites.

Frances Forrest, Your Bromley BID Manager, commented: “We were thrilled to have Rob Beckett turning on the lights this year.  Rob is one of Bromley’s most famous and best loved residents and he did a great job!  Christmas has really arrived in Bromley now, our lights are on, our Christmas market and funfair is in place and we are ready for the build up to the big day.”
