Make Music Day

Could you be discovered this Make Music Day?
Make Music Day is just around the corner and will see local artists from across Bromley performing throughout the town centre.
Your Bromley has a history of supporting local musical talent, giving local performers a chance to perform at events and having hosted Bromley’s Got Talent in 2022. We caught up with Bromley’s Got Talent winner, local singer and songwriter Oliver Anderson, to find out what impact it has had on his career.

Do you think winning Your Bromley’s ‘Bromley’s Got Talent’ has had an impact on your career in music?
100%. I managed to perform at my first ever festival because of it! And it gave me the boost of confidence that I needed to approach a producer to record a new single too. I’ve also gone on to perform at several more events in Bromley town centre, including the Christmas Lights Switch On and, recently, both High Street Fest events.
Was it exciting to perform your single at the Your Bromley Christmas Lights Switch On event in Bromley?
Performing at the Christmas Lights Switch On was so cool for me. Growing up in Bromley, I have been to the event so many times in the past, and it was surreal to be up on stage performing. It was truly an amazing experience for me.
You’re from Bromley – what does the area mean to you?
To me, Bromley doesn’t just mean home, it’s so much more than that. Bromley is where I wrote my first song, where I had my first kiss and my first heartbreak. Bromley is where I performed for the first time, putting me on the path that I am on now. Bromley is me and my career, and I am forever grateful to the people of this town for supporting me, and to the people like you at Your Bromley for giving me a platform.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently taking some time out to travel with my partner but am writing music as I go. You can follow my travels on Instagram at @oliver_anderson18
What advice would you give to anyone considering taking part in Make Music Day?
Go for it! Take a chance and put yourself out there. I am so glad I took the opportunity to compete in Bromley’s Got Talent and would totally recommend that other musicians get involved!
