Your Bromley Newsletter Nov 2021

Update from Frances Forrest, BID Manager

October saw the return of our popular Halloween trail. The Alebrije Trail is a free, and completely contactless, Augmented Reality trail. Anyone with a smartphone can play, discovering characters in shop windows around Bromley and watching them burst into life in front of them. The trail is a story driven experience designed for families to come into the town centre and explore and will be in place until 7th November.

We are also delighted to announce the return of our search for Bromley’s Local Hero.  We have teamed up with The Glades Shopping Centre, The Churchill Theatre and Mytime Active to find and thank an unsung hero of Bromley, with the winning entry given the honour of turning on the town’s Christmas lights alongside Bonnie Langford, star of The Churchill Theatre’s pantomime, ‘Sleeping Beauty’.  The winner will also receive £250 to donate to the charity of their choice, a £250 Glades shopping voucher, a family ticket to the Panto, and a family membership to Mytime Active for a month.

So, if you know a volunteer, a fundraiser, a sports coach or a member of the community who goes above and beyond the call of duty please email us at before 10th November.

Unwrap Bromley This Christmas

Our Christmas advertising campaign will be inviting visitors, Bromley workers and shoppers to unwrap Bromley this Christmas, highlighting the amazing shops, food and drink outlets and celebratory experiences available in our wonderful town.

Christmas really gets started on 21st November when we will hold a small, COVID secure, Bromley Christmas Lights Switch On event on Sunday 21st November.  The event will see Bromley’s brand new Christmas lights switched on for the first time, including lit up trees and beautiful selfie opportunities on the High Street.   However, some exciting arrivals will whet your appetite before then, with the Christmas Market from the 12th, and we will welcome the Walking With The Snowman trail to Bromley from the 17th of November until the end of January. We will also have Christmas themed performers in the town centre every Saturday until Christmas.
